Preface
The following is based on a true story that took place at the park in Cedar View Beach, Virginia on July 30th, 2019.
Scenes 1-2
Bryan Woolbert sat on a park bench down the street from his grandfather’s home in Cedar View Beach, Virginia. Feeling lonely, he began composing music (for the song) with his keyboard while viewing the sunset.
While gazing into the sunset, the gentle sounds of the water and cicadas lulled Woolbert into a daydream... |
Scenes 3-4
Scenes 5-7
Scenes 8-9
Suddenly, Woolbert began dreaming that the girl of his future appeared in the sunset, gradually walking toward him a second time. However, the sun had been much brighter and lower in the sky during this second vision. Nonetheless, as she came close enough to embrace him, she faded away into the sunset once again.
Meanwhile, Woolbert did not realize how quickly time had been passing in reality... |
Scenes 10-11
Suddenly, Woolbert woke up on the park bench to find only a slight glow remaining over the bay and hear the summer crickets chirping. Disappointed in having missed the most beautiful part of the sunset (when the fireball sinks into the bay), he powered off his keyboard and packed up his music equipment.

Scenes 12-13
Scenes 14-17
Scene 18
Scene 19
Suddenly, Woolbert began envisioning the girl of his future, slowly walking toward him once again. However, this time the orange fireball illuminated her hair extremely brightly and vividly, causing it to glow as if it were on fire.
Just when Woolbert thought this split second of indescribable beauty could not be outdone... |
Scene 20
Woolbert then dreamed that he was standing in the sunset, facing the girl of his future with her arms wide open. Amazed and inspired, Woolbert embraced her for the first time. The overwhelming peace and ecstasy that Woolbert experienced in that moment could not be described in words. As the two released their grasps with utmost gentleness, they faded away into the sunset. The vision continued...

Scene 21
Woolbert then envisioned sitting on the park bench at his keyboard composing more sections of the piece. As he went along, Woolbert would re-imagine seeing the girl of his future, his long walk home, and the sunset, among other moments that he had experienced in the hours prior.
In reality, he would eventually mentally connect the colors of those scenes with his chromesthetic musical equivalents to form the composition. |
